The state government issued standard operating procedures for distributing textbooks and said not more than 20 students are parents should be asked to come during a slot of one hour. “Textbooks have already been moved to all schools. It will take a few days as students will be called in small groups to avoid crowding,” a source said.
The state government decided to telecast classes for government school students from July 13. Five channels including Kalvi Tholaikkatchi, DD Podhigai, Polimer TV, Puthiya Thalaimurai and Thanthi TV will be used to broadcast lessons from Classes I to X. For Classes XI and XII, the video lessons will be made available on their laptops.
To avoid mixing laptops, students should be advised to paste a label in the laptop with their name and roll number. “Designated staff will collect laptops brought by Class XII students and copy the content to the laptops in hitech labs,” a government order said.
